We shall see. I shall be back, om inte annat bara för att handla julklappar ;)

A week's worth
Two posts after a week of silence? Well, dunno when I'll get to update the next time...
So what has happened first week?
First day I went from Edinburgh to move into my new room in Stirling. It didn't take long to move everything and I was done before the majority had even arrived. Then I went exploring the atrium and some of the stalls, which I also finished before many had even arrived. So I was then kinda stuck in my room, just longing home and had come up short with finding food I could eat due to allergies. (There's been so much pizza handout during fresher's and it both saddens me and makes me glad I couldn't have some...) Then there was a party in the evening that I went to with one of my dorm mates. I got to say that I've been real lucky with my dorm mates, they're pretty bloody great. We've had movie nights, gone shopping together and gone to parties during fresher's. And next week awaits a surprise for the birthday girl. I've only met a few people other than my dorm mates (I did go to a dorm party the first night and met a lot of people, but didn't get to know many of them as we got past the introduction and then more people rolled into the small kitchen.) but the people I have met so far have been sweet :)
My lectures have started, or at least my Law module has. Social Differentation and Language and Society start next week on Monday. But law so far has been interesting! I'm just dying slighly when it comes to all the "facktermer" that I have trouble understanding.
The following days I signed up interest for associations and sports clubs (some of which I'm not sure why I signed up for... spur of the moment?)
Associations I signed up interest for: (of what I can remember signing up for...)
- Medieval society
- Comics club
- Drama club
Sports club
- Volleyball
- Shotokan karate
- Muay Thair boxing (...why?)
- Trampoline and Gymnastics (alright.)
- Equastrian (whut. I miss riding, but probably not.)
- Fencing
Now, I've not joined anything yet, just signed up interests for next week when it's "Give it a go"-week. I'm all hyped up for volleyball and if I have time for more sports, the choice is between karate, fencing and maybe, if gymnastics are fun. And I can't really decide between the three associations I signed up for and there's one more I would like to join but couldn't find :/ I feel like this will be one busy year...

A week.
So, I've now spent a week here in Stirling, at the university and I must say that I feel much, much better since my last post (which was incredibly depressing due to lack of food and sleep and longing home.)
It's not all sunshine and daisies yet, especially not since my computer crashed on the second day of getting here... But! Friends and family have been ever so sweet and supportive, so I'm getting on track again. My dorm mates are four other very kind girls, who I have spent some fun time with :) I'm finding food I can eat and after multiple trips into town (and a student freebie fayre) I now have stuff to cook with! My energy is popping up again and videos from my friends, skype calls, emails and a much, much appreciated food package from mother dearest ♥ which came in the mail today, is raising my mood even higher. So my lost pounds will surely return as I now have food to eat, candy to sweeten my evenings and sports that are coming up next week! And my stress level has gone down a notch or five since CSN gave thumbs up (with a little help from mum and dad) and even though getting a new computer will take a while, it's on its way. Also next week, I'll hopefully get a UK bank account fixed.
Now I'm instead looking forward to meeting people for associations and clubs and start living uni life a bit happier. I am still going to consider it all and my options between staying and just studying a year, and there will be days when I want nothing more than to go home, but I'm looking positively at it all :)

Reality slaps back
Stirling!
I'm sitting in my new accomodation, slightly decorated with my stuff from home and some newly bought books for my modules. This is where I would happily show you the pictures but the cord that belongs to the camera I originally took the pictures with lies forgotten on a desk in Stockholm. I'll update with pictures asap.
Almost everyone seem to have brought their parents along today. And as I write, the cars that drove into campus this morning are now leaving. It has died down a lot since noon when everyone was getting their stuff and moving in. It still dribbles a bit but has stopped raining. I guess it's true what they say about Scotland:
"If you can't see the mountains, it's raining. If you can see the mountains, it's about to rain."
I've done a lot of shopping today, or at least some expensive shopping... The uni hoodie, some books for my criminology module and some basic food and hygiene articles. Looking at the store on campus I'll either survive on apples or I'm going to have go into town and find a proper food store. They didn't have salad, but they sure had candy, chocolate and alkohol. There are a few hours until the first party of fresher's starts. My uni life is about to begin. I'm about to study criminology and sociology in another country. All my choices.
And never have I felt this lonely.

Packing for tomorrow!
PACKING!
Pack. Repack. Weigh. Reweigh.
GAH!
There's so much I want to bring and I'm trying to get everything down in a bag of 20 kg. Since it's Ryanair I don't want it to actually weigh 20kg in case some steward is in a lousy mood and wants to charge me £60 due to some misunderstanding. The most recent Ryanair stories worry me and I wish I didn't have to fly with them, but it was the cheapest option : /
But tomorrow is the big D-day! I leave rather late in the evening so it'll be a fidgety Friday...

Hello goodbye
I leave for Stockholm tomorrow morning. It's goodbye childhood town and hello capital!
Lyskväll!
It's lyskväll-time bitches! BD
Or was, yesterday :) For those who don't know, lyskväll is a night when we put out big sort of tealight-like candles around the shores and by the river side. It's beautiful. And yesterday we went out with the boat during the evening, after we placed and lit our our own candles on the bridge and beach. It's a dark sea with lights mirrored in the water. It's a pretty nice sight :)
Me, sitting in the boat. Picture taken by my visiting uncle. I'll try and find a more illuminating picture of the actual lights.
